A calm, contemporary brand
Mahé Design was engaged by Augmentum Consulting to bring the brand to life by creating a professional identity that reflects Kardinia Urology’s commitment to patient-centred care, efficient service, integrity, innovation, and professionalism.
We explored a range of directions early on, testing how typography, symbolism and form could express Kardinia’s values of care, professionalism and innovation. Early concepts played with the letters K and U, directional movement, and sun motifs, supported by mood boards that explored tone and colour. Each step helped shape a calm, confident identity, anchored in meaning and designed for longevity.
The final logo combines the initials K and U with a stylised sun, referencing Kardinia - ‘sunrise’ in the Wadawurrung language - to symbolise new beginnings. This culturally grounded mark represents hope, healing and patient transformation.
The rising sun evokes warmth, clarity and renewal, aligning with Kardinia’s patient-centred values of empathy, communication and personalised care. Its clean, modern design reflects a forward-thinking practice, grounded in trust and innovation.
The brand was rolled out across stationery and a Squarespace website, bringing a confident presence to every patient touchpoint.
