Onyx Health approached Mahé Design to develop a brand identity that reflects their commitment to whole-person care, equity, and long-term wellbeing. The name Onyx draws from the onyx stone, known for its strength and layered form, aligning with the idea of health as a supported journey shaped over time.

The challenge was to create an identity that balances clinical credibility with warmth and humanity. It needed to feel confident and contemporary, while remaining approachable and inclusive, avoiding the generic visual language often seen in healthcare.

Our strategy centred on expressing strength and reassurance in a considered, human way. The onyx stone became a guiding metaphor, with its layered form inspiring a symbol that places a person at the centre, reflecting Onyx Health’s belief that care should always be individual-first, supported by expertise and collaboration around them.

The visual identity is built around this symbol, using organic forms and balanced geometry to convey structure and care. A warm, refined colour palette and clear, accessible typography support trust, clarity, and ease of communication across all touchpoints.

Outcome
The resulting brand presents a clear and confident expression of Onyx Health and how they care. Grounded, inclusive, and human, the identity places the individual at its core while conveying strength and support, creating a modern and enduring presence that can grow with the organisation over time.
